Hotels: We have arranged special rates at two hotels in Tuscaloosa--the Hampton Inn and the Four Points Sheraton. We recommend that most guests stay at the Hampton Inn. It is a newer hotel and offers an excellent breakfast bar; additionally, it would be nice if most people were staying near each other. However, we know that some people may prefer a more full-service hotel, so we have also arranged a small block of rooms at the Four Points Sheraton. Below is the rate and reservation information for each hotel:
Hampton Inn Tuscaloosa-University

General driving routes to Tuscaloosa:
From the southwest (Texas), take Interstate 20 to Tuscaloosa; Interstate 59 will merge with 20 about 1.5 hours from Tuscaloosa to become 20/59.
From Midwest (including Missouri, Arkansas and Memphis), take Interstate 55 South to Highway 82 East, which will take you to Tuscaloosa.
From the north, take Interstate 65 South to Birmingham, take 20/59 to Tuscaloosa.
From the east, take Interstate 20 West to Tuscaloosa (it changes to 20/59 in Birmingham).
Specific driving directions from Birmingham International Airport to the hotels:
To get to the Hampton Inn from the Birmingham International Airport: as you exit the airport, take a right onto Interstate 20/59 West, which takes you to Tuscaloosa. In Tuscaloosa, take the Highway 82 exit and take a right at the first light. Continue on Highway 82; it will drop from 6 lanes to four lanes after the University Boulevard exit. Take the following exit for the Hampton Inn.
To get to the Four Points Sheraton from the Birmingham International Airport: as you exit the airport, take a right onto Interstate 20/59 West, which takes you to Tuscaloosa. In Tuscaloosa, take the Highway 82 exit and take a right at the first light. Continue on Highway 82 until you reach the University Boulevard exit. Take the University Boulevard exit, whch loops around. Then, make a right at the first light onto University Boulevard and get in the left lane. At the second light, take the left fork onto Paul Bryant Drive. The hotel will be on your right before the second light.
