We're listing all events here to give everyone a general shape of the weekend. A little closer to the wedding date, separate invitations will be sent for the Bridesmaids' luncheon and rehearsal dinner.
12:00 pm: Bridesmaids' Luncheon All females from both sides of the family will be invited to this luncheon and shower, hosted by Joan Van Zele. The attire will be sundresses or dressy casual. Separate invitations will be sent after response cards are received. And guys, if you are looking for someplace to entertain yourselves while the girls sip Mimosas, we will be gathering during the Bridesmaids' Luncheon at the home of Robert and Kathy Loper, which is also located in Northriver at 7528 Spinnaker Ave NE.
5:00 pm-7:00 pm: Tool & Kitchen Gadget Shower This informal party is hosted by Helene Loper and Susan Lowe at their home. Separate invitations will be sent for this event.
9:00 pm: Wedding Party party In lieu of bachelor and bachelorette parties, there will be a joint party at several local Tuscaloosa establishments. Dress casually in "going-out wear". More information to follow.
5:00 pm: Rehearsal The rehearsal for the wedding party will be at 5 at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Tuscaloosa (900 Greensboro Ave).
6:30 pm: Rehearsal Dinner Both immediate families and out-of-town guests will be invited to a pig roast and cookout at 16 Guildswood, the home of Norman & Helene Hibbard, Trudy's grandparents. Dress casually. Weather permitting, we will head down to the Black Warrior river to view fireworks after dark. Parking will be limited, so please plan to carpool if at all possible; other transportation from hotels is currently being researched.
1:00 pm: Wedding Ceremony The ceremony will commence promptly at 1 pm at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Tuscaloosa (900 Greensboro Ave).
Afterward: Reception After the ceremony, there will be a reception at the Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion, an Italianate mansion within walking distance of the church (1305 Greensboro Ave). Parking is available at the mansion.
