I've had problems with Google lately, related to the site's domain name resolution. Typing in www.google.com send me to a page that errors.
It was like my online life was OVER. Really. I panicked. :)
Just so you know, if you're having this problem, you can still access Google at http://216.239.59.99/ until they fix the problem.

Scratch that. If you have this problem, you have the QHOSTS.A trojan, a low-risk pain-in-the-ass style trojan horse. Visit Trend Micro's site, which gives the best directions on find the offending file, removing it, and the resetting all the registry keys it changed. Thanks to xenit and a few RL friends for the heads up.

I got Google built into my browser's toolbars, I forget where I found this option, but didn't have any of the "google down" problems you mentioned today.
